Córdoba is the second biggest city in Argentina and the
most important one in the central region of the country. The relief has a
slight steep slope towards the Sierras Chicas in the valley of the River 1º

Córdoba City:Founded in 1573 by the 1º River (Río Primero),
the city of Córdoba is famous for being the greatest cultural and services
center after Buenos Aires. It has a historic center with one of the most
valuable heritage in the country, with a number of churches, convents and old
houses dating from the 17th to the 19th centuries with remarkable artistic and
architectonic value.

The Cathedral, the Compañía, Santa Teresa and Santa
Catalina Convents, the House of the Sobremonte Marquee, the Rivera Indarte
theater are among the outstanding monuments in Argentina's architectural
heritage.

Córdoba is the Capital City of the homonimous Province.

Carlos Paz City (Punilla Valley) -
The heart for tourism in Córdoba-:The Terrones and
its strange reddish rock formations, strangely eroded, the Quebrada and view
point in Cuchi Corral as a hang gliding center, the Quebrada de Vaquerias, the
Natural Reserve of Bosque Serrano and the Chorrilos Waterfall are some of the
sights of this valley. The recreational activities, sailing, windsurf,
canoeing, swimming, horse back riding, trekking and hiking have their special
setting in the Cosquin and San Antonio rivers, the San Roque dam by Carlos Paz
city, the La Falda and the Cajon dams in Capilla del Monte. The night has a
privileged place in this valley, with a wide variety of restaurants, theaters,
bars, discos and casinos. Carlos Paz is the center of it all.

The Condor Habitats -InParravasca-... a unique sight for
adventure: The Anisacate river, main attraction in this area, together with
other rivers and streams, flows into Los Molinos dam. The magnificent Quebrada
del Condorito in the center of the National Park with the same name, is a
unique sight for adventure sports lovers since it is one of the few condor
habitats other than the Andes. Alta Gracia city, the true center of this
valley, hosts one of the most important legacy conglomerates from colonial
times: the Jesuits' ranch that gave the city its name.
Snow on the top -Calamuchita-: The Calamuchita valley is
limited by the Sierras Chicas to the east and the Sierras de los Comechingones
to the west and has the magnificent Champaqui Hill (2,794 meters above sea
level) as its highest mountain. Fishing and other kinds of water sports may be
practiced in any of its seven dams, among which we can mention the ones in
Cerro Pelado, Rio Tercero, Piedras Moras and Los Molinos. The National Beer
Festival, the Delicatessen Festival and the Alpine Chocolate Festival in Villa
General Belgrano are of great importance at provincial and national levels.
Snow on the top of the hills adds the necessary charm to this tourist offer.
Archeological site (Mountains of the south ): Rural and
hill surroundings mix in this area, with their landscape, tradition and
adventure. The Native Comechingones left their pictorial testimony in the
archeological site of the Intihuasi Hill. In these hills, tourists may enjoy

rural tourism and ranch visits.
Río Cuarto, second largest city in the province, is an
important center for tourist services, and has a great cultural impact in the
area.Lake the Ansenusa: Mar Chiquita Lake (or Ansenuza Lake) is a large mass
of water with high saline percentage that covers an area of 6,000 squared
kilometers. Its main attractions are the varied types of landscapes that favor
the presence of many different kinds of birds, such as the pink flamingos. Mar
Chiquita has been declared Provincial Natural Reservation and Hemispheric Site
of the Reservation Net for Sea Birds. Miramar city, on the south margin of the
lake, has a specialized center for mud baths therapy.
Photographic Safaris and Bird Watching (The South): The
southern area of the province has its own attractions: its rivers, lakes and
ponds.
