GUAMINI - WATERFOWL

Seasons: April to August

HUNT: Our Ranch is located in the center of many natural ponds. The region is also very good for crops making it ideal for sustaining the largest populations of ducks in the country.

Ducks: Camouflaged blinds are prepared in the best ponds to start shooting before the sun comes up every day. Decoys are placed every morning in the chosen blinds. We scout the area every day for best hunting possibilities, and we never shoot 2 times in the same place, in order not to over hunt one specific area. Blinds are located in the side of the ponds and sometimes some meters inside the water. Waders are always a plus for moving freely in the hunting place. The available species: Crested duck, Brown Pintail, Silver teal and Speckled teal. The hunters may expect to shoot above 150 shells per morning, getting sometimes up to 400.

Geese: Blinds are prepared by our staff every morning, normally in crop fields where the geese feed. Decoys are placed to attract the birds to the blinds (normally 2 or 3 hunters are put together to maximize the shooting). Groups of birds from 3 to 100 will start to arrive as soon as the darkness is gone. Every hunter in the blind is able to shoot, as the average number of birds per group is 7 to 20. The hunt can extend of 8:00 to 12:00 A.M. and there is no limit in terms of number of birds to take.

Once the morning hunt is finished and after taking the photos, we go back to the Ranch for lunch. A short "siesta"  (short nap) can be taken after the meal, and at 3.30 P.M. we go back to the fields for some "perdiz" or dove hunt. Geese can not be hunted in the afternoon, but if the hunter prefers, a duck hunt can be organized.

TRANSFERS: After arriving to Buenos Aires, our staff will meet you in the customs, where guns are to be declared. After customs, a 40 minutes drive will transport you to the domestic airport to connect the flight to city of Bahia Blanca, where you will be met again by our hunting guides. The Ranch is 1 hour drive from this airport.
